Ventures

Over the past years, we have been instrumental in the set-up of a number of ventures:

We see venturing for clients as an integral part of our advisory proposition.  Successful risk management often leads to rigid structures and hinders entrepreneurship. Together with our clients, we create ‘bypasses’ in order to make innovation and new business development possible within or around their organizations. If this process leads to concrete new corporations, we act as initiators and project managers.

  • SkyEnergy is a case in point, where our client KLM had the vision and the courage to take an entrepreneurial approach in the second-generation biofuels market. Together with NSPH, KLM and Spring developed the strategy and set up the venture.
  • At Ledzworld in Penang, Malaysia, we were instrumental in crafting the strategy and attracting the investments for this venture.
  • Phoenix Bio Energy is a switch grass venture in Inner Mongolia that we created together with our Chinese partners.

In order to avoid interference with our core advisory business, and to avoid conflicts of interest, the ventures have been transferred to a separate entity, Spring Newco.
